Certification

The consulate issues different types of certificates in Italian language based on requirement/merit of the case. It may, however, be mentioned for every certificate, the applicant must produce necessary document issued by concerned authorities in Bangladesh. All the documents, except Power of Attorney, have to be authenticated by the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. All applicants for certificates must submit their original passport while applying for a certificate.

Some of the certificates issued are formatted. But there are many other certificates that are required on an specific need. In such a case, the concerned Consular Officer of the Consulate may ask the applicant to bring a proper document (in most cases affidavits) from concerned Bangladesh authorities.

The documents the service seekers would require for a formatted certificate are described below.

National Certificate

Fee:
Delivery : € 28

It is issued on the basis of the particulars contained in the passport. To get a nationality certificate, one must produce his/her passport to the consulate. Photocopy of the passport will not be accepted for this purpose.

If the applicant desires he/she can also submit one copy photograph for endorsement in the certificate.

Birth Certificate

Ordinary Delivery : € 28

This is issued on the basis of birth registration certificate/extract of register of birth issued by the competent authority in Bangladesh provided these are authenticated by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

Marriage Certificate

Delivery (15 days): € 28

Original Nikahnama attested by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the passport of the person concerned are required. It may be noted here that, as per existing law, the age of the Bridegroom must not be less than 21 on the date of marriage and that of the bride must not be lass than 18. One set of photocopy of Nikahnama needs to be submitted for the record of the Consulate.

Unmarried Certificate/Nulla Osta

An unmarried certificate/nulla osta is issued only on the basis of unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioner’s Office (District DC office) and authenticated by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The original copy of the unmarried certificate must be submitted with the Embassy. No other document is considered valid for this purpose. One set of photocopy of the certificate/ document needs to be submitted for the record of the Consulate.

Divorce Certificate/Nulla Osta

Delivery (15 days): € 28

This certificate/nulla osta is issued on the basis of the Divorce Certificate issued by the Marriage Register and the certificate must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka (in original). In certain cases, court’s order clearly stating the execution of the divorce may be submitted. But such an order must be authenticated by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. One set of photocopy of all these document needs to be submitted for the record of the Consulate.

Family Certificate

Original Nikahnama attested by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka and the passport of the person concerned are required to be submitted. Original birth registration certificate/extract of the register of birth of the children issued by the competent authority in Bangladesh and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka should also be submitted. One set of photocopy of all these document needs to be submitted for the record of the consulate.

No Income, No Job, No Property Certificate

Delivery : € 28

Such a certificate may be issued upon receiving an affidavit from Bangladesh that the person concerned does not have any property or job in Bangladesh. The affidavit must by authenticated by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.

Education Certificate

Fee:
Delivery : € 25

All the education certificates must be authenticated by the concerned board/university, then by Ministry of Education, and then by the Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For word-to-word translation: The applicant must have it translated by a professional translator.

Other Certificates

The Consulate General also issues various other certificates on submission of supporting documents as required by the Consulate General.

Applying for Certification

To obtain a certificate, the applicant must submit the following:

  1. Completed Application Form for Attestation/Certification
  2. Original as well as photocopy of documents, as required by the Consulate General (the original document will be returned). In case of birth certificates, the Bangladesh passport of the applicant must be submitted with the application form.

Alive certificates to pension holders are issued free of charge.
